 We’d not been out of London for a few weeks and with Christmas coming up Candy was keen to get away. So when she suggested that we head north to get a weekends biking in I was all over it. The run-up to the weekend was a killer: both of us were under pressure at work as well as struggling to get all the Christmas shopping done. On Wednesday evening I got a new headset through the post, Thursday morning I booked in some time with the nice guys at action bikes to fit it on Friday. Just in time to head north on the train. This is how we got on.

 We decided in early February that we really wanted to get some water Ice in this year. We had already ordered some axes for Candy and when the first reports of Ice forming in Rjukan came in we decided to jump at the chance. The only time available was immediately before our planned trip to El Chorro, this would give us a few days playing on frozen waterfalls and then a week clipping bolts in the sun.
Although we only had four days climbing time available we definitely made the most of it. This is how we got on in Rjukan.
